Sponored by Dominos Pizza Australia, the university crime prevention seminar program are held at
every major university campus throughout Queensland each year to educate Chinese university
students on personal safety, property protection and Queensland driving regulations.
With Queensland universities increasingly enroll more Chinese university students as part of the
state and federal government's strategy to internationally market Australia educational institutions,
these seminars are more important than ever to help maintain student safety and Australia's image as
a safe study destination.
The Australian Chinese General Chamber of Business works with the local university Chinese
student associations and co-ordinate with the police with organising these crime prevention
seminars.
In 2008, ACGCB signed a number of sponsorship agreements with individual Chinese student
associations to financially fund and organise their crime prevention seminars over a three years
period.
The chamber of business successfully secured Dominos Australia as a sponsor in-kind of this
program by supplying free pizzas for students attending these seminars, in an effort to attract as
many students to the attend the program. |
